2004-05 John O'Neil
John O'Neil wasn't everybody's favorite player, but I thought he was our most consistent performer throughout our Championship winning season. He was always there to break up the opposing teams possession and he always made himself available to receive a pass. He won most man of the match awards in my first season and gets the award for player of the year.

2005-06 Kenny Milne
Kenny Milne was signed from Partick Thistle at the start of the season. He quickly established himself in John Hughes' starting eleven. This versatile defender can play at centre back or left back and was a consistent performer throughout the season.

2006-07 Darren Barr
Darren Barr came into this season as just a normal youth and reserve player. On his first game of the 2006-07 campaign, people were anxious about him playing. After about 10 games, Darren Barr had became the best player in our defence. Darren is now one of the best defenders in the SPL. He is 22 and has a very good future in front of him. He was outstanding in the season 2006-07 and was my player of the year.

2007-08

Gerard Aafjes

Gerard Aafjes signed as a free agent at the start of the 07-08 season after impressing on trial. He first came into the side at right-back as a replacement for injured Jack Ross but he established himself in the team at centre-back alongside Darren Barr. Gerard won numerous Man of the Match awards for his performances in the second half of the season and just pipped Darren Barr to Player of the Year by 20 points.

2008-09

Jackie McNamara

After a number of Man of the Match winning performances at the start of the season, Jackie McNamara ran away with the Player of the Year award with 140 points. He certainly had a bigger impact on the team than the rest of the "Dad's Army" (made up of McNamara, Neil McCann and Lee Bullen) after joining from Aberdeen in the summer of 2008.
