 27. DAYNE ROBERTSON

DoB : 21/06/1988 at Edinburgh, Scotland
Striker/Midfielder

AT FFC       01/07/2006 - Present

Dayne Robertson was one of the most promising players in the academy but a horrific leg break at the end of season 06-07 against Rangers U19's at Stirling Uni has halted his progress into the first team. He faced a further set back with this injury in 07-08. Let's hope Dayne has put his injuries behind him and can progress in season 08-09. Dayne is now playing alongside his boyhood hero Neil McCann as you can see from the interview below.

Exclusive Interview with Dayne Robertson - 02/08/2007

Q. I was at Stirling Uni for the Rangers game when you broke your leg, it must have been really painful. I thought the ambulance was never going to turn up. How is your leg and when do you hope to be back playing?
A. Yeh, it was very sore. I'm doing good. I am walking properly and hopefully without any set backs, I will be back playing late September or maybe October.

Q. I have seen you play regular in midfield, but I've also seen you link up with Mark Stewart. What is your favourite position, midfield or up front?
A. I used to think of myself as a midfielder but I don't really mind. As long as I am playing, I'll play anywhere.

Q. Which club did you support as a boy?
A. Hearts.

Q. Who was your boyhood hero and who do you admire in football now?
A. Neil McCann and now it's Wayne Rooney.

Q. Who is your best mate in football or at the club?
A. Probably Brian Allison but wee Moff is a good mate too.

Q. What is your favourite stadium to play in?
A. I enjoyed being on the bench at Tynecastle. It was a great atmosphere although the result wasn't so good.

Q. What is your greatest football achievement so far?
A. I suppose its making my first team debut against Aberdeen.

Q. Who is the most promising player in the Falkirk academy?
A.
Lee Nicol is a really good player but there's a few.

Q. What is your normal training day routine?
A.
Well for now its treatment in the early part of the morning then weight training with Cheb then some cardio stuff like cycling or the cross trainer in the gym. I'll have my lunch then probably have an afternoon session in the pool, then more treatment from the physio.

Q. What place would you bet Falkirk finishing this season?
A
. 5-6. I think Falkirk will go on and surprise teams again this year. Maybe even win a cup.

That's the Football questions over...

Q. What music do you like?
A.
As long as it has a good beat, I really don't mind.

Q. What was the last song you bought or downloaded?
A.
Kate Nash - Foundations.

Q. What is your favourite Holiday resort?
A.
I always seem to end up in Spain or the Canary Islands. My last holiday was to Tenerife.

Q. What is your favourite clothes shop to shop in?
A.
Xile in Edinburgh.

Q. What type of food do you prefer?
A.
All kinds. Every once in a while, you cant beat Chinese food.
