Lee started his professional career at Stenhousmuir as a striker and scored 46 goals in 70 games! He then went on to play for Australian Wollongong Wolves, China's Golden and South China and Kalamata of Greece. When he returned home, Lee joined Dunfermline Athletic in 2000. Then Bullen went down south to play with Sheffield Wednesday in 2004. In the eight years at those two clubs, Lee played over 250 games as a defender.

When it was announced that Lee Bullen would join Falkirk on a two-year deal, he was given a guard of honour by his Wednesday team mates.
